USBs these days are actually necessities which people need in order to store important data that they have. Of course with it being so popular, many people would actually think of jazzing these thumb drives up a bit. One can actually make custom made usb drives in his home without spending too much.

Now to do thins, one has to first get out his thumb drive and take out the existing case that it has. Now he cannot make a custom made thumb drive if the case is still there. So before doing anything, crack open the existing case and take out the raw thumb drive.

One very important thing to take note in this step is that sometimes one would be needing a screwdriver. Although there are no screws found here, the outer covering may be hard to take off with just bare hands. So with a screwdriver, he will have an easier time snapping off the existing cover without damaging the inside of the usb.

Now after one has already done this, then the next thing to do would be to think of a new outer covering. Now this is where one can get a little bit artistic. He can actually decide on whatever he would want as an outer covering as the material will not really matter.

Now some of the suggested things to use for this part would be some toys, lego blocks, or even clay if one would like. Of course there is no limit to the things that one can do with this. Now once he has already chosen what he wants to use for his outer covering, he now has to get himself a drill.

Now the drill would be used in the event that the covering that he chose does not have a hole where the thumb drive can fit. He would need to get the exact length of the drive and the width as well so that he will know how big the hole will be. Once the hole is already made, then all he has to do would be to just slot the thumb drive in.

The last step in the process is to use some epoxy or super glue to stick the thumb drive to the hole. To do this step, one has to just slot the drive inside the hole then put the glue all over the entrance of the hole. After that, he should let the glue dry by putting the newly made thumb drive across an electric fan so that the glue will dry.

So if one has a little bit of an artistic touch and does not mind putting in some time and effort, then he can make his own custom thumb drive. Now the great thing about this is that it is very cheap to do. No longer will one have to spend a lot of money to make a custom thumb drive. He can just make it at home already without having to go to any store.
