Man Outsourced His Own Career To China, Got Paid To Look At Cat Videos

By Cornelius Nunev

Typically, when one hears about outsourcing, it means that a company is going to fire a lot of people, hire brand new workers overseas for pennies and pay executives more. Reports of a male who outsourced his own job would usually seem outrageous but one guy actually did it.

Male not joking about outsourcing

When people at the office joke about outsourcing their jobs, they do not mean it traditionally. A traditional company will make a ton of additional money for executives if they fire a lot of people in the country and pay next to nothing in another country to have the same work done.

When people joke about outsourcing their own job, they mean paying an overseas worker next to nothing to do their jobs for them. One man has actually done it, according to the BBC, and this is not a prank by "The Onion."

The man's identity is unknown, and he is referred to as "Bob," but he outsourced his job. As a software creator, he compensated a Chinese company to do every little thing for pennies.

Cats amusing in the movies

According to NPR, Bob's company employed Verizon to look at its virtual private network security because it saw that it was getting a lot of data from China. Bob was a software creator at the business.

Bob's work at the business was considered timely and of high-quality, making him a model employee at the company. He was making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year at his job until he had been discovered. The company figured out that he employed a software consultancy firm in China to do the work.

During work hours, Bob was surfing the internet, looking at kitty movies and buying things on EBay. Verizon discovered Chinese contractors logged in when he was at work. He used an RSA token, according to PC Magazine.

Done for some time

Evidently Bob used many different businesses to outsource to, but it only cost him $50,000 a year to do it. He was making hundreds of thousands, so that was not much in his mind. Bob may need loans to get by now that he wastes so much money rather than doing all the work himself.

Bob was fired, definitely.
