Designer Carrera Sunglasses

Clear vision is one of the most crucial aspects of any competition and being able to compete at the highest level means that you need to have all of your senses working to their full potential. Two of the most dangerous sports in the world - skiing and rock climbing - require that your vision is perfect at all times, to ensure that you are safe while competing in your chosen sport. If you take your vision away for even a split second, the consequences can leave you with horrific injuries.

For over fifty years the Carrera brand has been manufacturing sunglasses and although their market share is quite widespread today, the company originated by creating a range of sunglasses that could be worn while competing in a whole range of adventure sports.

Originally designed to provide comfortable and practical eyewear for skiers, it is not hard to see why the glasses became such an instant hit in their home country of Austria, a country popular with local skiers and tourists. Although it is not always clear to see why sunglasses are needed when skiing, they are infact a crucial part of any skier's outfit and are needed to prevent serious sun damage to a skier's eyes.

Although the sun may not seem strong on top of a mountain, the reflection off the snow and ice can actually multiply the sun's rays and cause twice or three times as much damage as dealing with the sun directly. Without the use of sunglasses, the strength of these rays can cause a great deal of damage to the retina and potentially blind skiers as they are performing their runs.

When it comes to other adventure sports, mountain climbers also require sunglasses to ensure that their eyes remain protected from potentially harmful rays. Falling rocks and stones can also cause potential problems to a climber's eyes as they can often fall when a climb is taking place causing a great deal of pain or difficulty to the climber. Sunglasses help to keep the climber's eyes clean and therefore allow for a safer climb.
