Creating A Cool-Looking Farm In Farmville With Optical Illusions

By Jeff Farmer

In Farmville, when you reach a very high level, you may wonder what else there is to do. After all, you probably possess a huge farm, big fields, a large variety of tree and animals, and still have a few million in coins stocked up. What do you do now?

The answer: decorating. Farmville offers a huge number of different options for sprucing up your farm.

In Farmville, the price of a normal hay bale is 100 coins, and the price of a mansion is 5,000,000 coins. Therefore, as you can see, the costs of decorations can vary, and more than just a little bit, too. But considering the fact that you've already made it to this high level, that shouldn't be a huge problem.

Although, the thing is with decorations is that they're just that: decorations. You don't get coins or harvests from them, unfortunately. You do get a little bit of experience, but it's never a huge amount.

Why do we want decorations? One reason is that they look good, and another is that they help you to add a more personal touch to your farm. But you don't need a reason, really. You've advanced this far in the game, so you deserve it!

Really cool things can start happening after you get lots of decorations. You'll have the opportunity to make your farm look really cool.

Do you want a 3-D farm? Having one is possible by placing Farmville decorations creatively and carefully.

Using carefully placed black fences, one Farmville player was able to build an illusion that made it appear as if an Eiffel Tower decoration was sitting on top of a three-dimensional black wall.

The key, then, to creating three-dimensional optical illusions using decorations is to not place them in straight rows. This is what your eye expects to see, so it won't create an illusion. But if you stagger the placement of your decorations, you might be able to trick your eyes into seeing a three-dimensional farm.

It's not easy to do, but try starting small to get the hang of it. Place a row of about 20 black fences from end to end. Then, for the next row, instead of aligning them exactly with the previous row, place them slightly off center. Repeat that for the next row and all the ones after that.

To make the 3-D effect work, you have to make sure that the columns aren't all equal in height, as well. The first column should have one fence, the second should have two, the third should have three and so on. When you get to the last five columns, though, make sure that they all align (i.e. make sure that they're equally tall in height).

Upon completion of the fence wall, your next order of business is creating a sense of depth. It's pretty simple, actually. On the top of each column, count three plots and then plow them, and when you're finished with that, place trees along the edge of the plots. A look of depth should result from this.

Your farm should take on a three-dimensional look if you practice the advice in this article. And if you keep doing it, you might be surprised by the results! Have fun!
