Bargain Hunting Builds My Purpose

By Lucretia N. Rivet

Next time you order something online wait a minute before you checkout. Nearly every company extends promotions with special discount codes that can help you quickly save money without much effort. There's little doubt that you've already found out how convenient online shopping can be. Doing a little bit of extra research will help you save even more. It's kind of amazing how readily available this information really are.

I rarely leave my house without my little pouch of clipped savings. It doesn't matter where I am or what I am looking at, I keep my eyes open for any sort of way to cut down on my expenses. The amount that I've subtracted from my total sales receipts has been surprising on more than one occasion. It's been completely possible for me to slash over 50% off of a shopping trip if I stick to my routine of paying close attention.

It's hard to remember where I got this behavior from. Being brought up in a large family where I had three young siblings most likely had the biggest effect on my penny-pinching outlook. It didn't matter what I wanted, I always placed their needs first in order to be sure they didn't have to go without. Now as I am older and out on my own, I always keep my cupboards stocked and plenty of fresh linens available for when they visit.

When I have any extra quantity of anything it makes it so easy to donate to people. Odds are I ended up saving such a huge amount on it to begin with that it would seem selfish of me to not share. Really, it's not a joke that can find anything that you could need in my cupboards. I take great pride in having those random and rare things that can be difficult to find. My motto is that the heart is in the details.

So now that I have taken to doing most of my shopping through the Internet, I have extended my need for that famous four letter word: SALE. I have definitely developed a long lasting fascination with saving. It's great listening to a friend or one of my siblings tell me that they have to go run to the store just to pick one thing up. I always have it someplace handy.

Everyone always acts the same way whenever I do this. You would think by now that they would remember that I'm always here to help out. I think they think I'm psychic or something. Really it has nothing to do with that when you think about the fact that I'm really only a very educated consumer.

I'm not the only one that gets to enjoy the benefits of all of the savings. Now if I could just get my brothers and sisters to start saving more money on their own purchases than maybe they wouldn't be coming to me so often for help. If that were the situation, I don't know what I would do with my time.
