Searching For The Right Vending Machine Locations

By Peter Milazzo

In traveling about one will see vending machine locations in numerous places. Some of these are successful and some are not. Therefore careful searching for the best locations is required if one's goals are to be realized.

In searching for a location, look at other products offered in the same vicinity. If the location has sodas available, for example, then that kind of a vending machine would have very little traffic. If there is a nearby deli, then sandwiches would not be a good item for the dispenser.

Sodas, foods that are canned or can be heated, and other such products have a very good turnover in motels or hotels. People who are staying in such places are often looking for snacks or other things that can be consumed while they are in their rooms. Coffee and cocoa machines are not good in these places as they are often offered free of charge by the management.

The amount of traffic in the area will determine the success or failure of your venture. A place where there are numerous workers, such as an office building, commercial work site and other such locations is excellent. In addition, any traffic centers where there is no other offer of food or snacks are very successful sites.

It cannot be overemphasized that these devices must be serviced on a regular schedule. Freshness of the product offered must be outstanding. If there is an item that does not sell well, it should be replaced. If there are any complaints about the products, the property owner has the right to ask you to remove the dispenser.

This kind of enterprise should be with the understanding that it will require constant upkeep with attention to detail. Service to the machine must be done on a regular basis with a replacement of items that have been sold. In addition, the property owner will require that the machine itself be kept clean and attractive looking.

Vending machine locations that are in close proximity are essential unless you are willing to devote full time to this enterprise. If you are using it for additional income, then this must be considered. If the dispensers are close by, it will save a great deal of time and travel. Keeping records of expenses and income is an essential part of this business, as well as the ability to negotiate contracts with the various property owners.
