A Short Guide to Sodium2 - Project Velocity

By Andrew Butler

Sodium2- Project Velocity is the second game in the sodium series that are exclusive to PlayStation Home members. This high octane racing game is the follow up to Sodium One, the previous instalment. Project Velocity is rich with features like customisability, connection to the Sodium Hub and a gripping soundtrack composed by Cold Storage.

Available in both single-player and multi player mode and unlike Sodium One Salt Shooter, is free to play. As a single player, gamers can practice by choosing the course on which they would like to play and race against the 2 highest scorers among their mates. New tracks are also added occasionally to keep the game varied. Players receive credits after each race depending on how well they have played. Also on meeting some of the special objectives set by the game, further Sodium Credits can be earned.

In the single player version, players can watch how they performed through replays from various camera angles. They can also can also make any necessary changes in the garage changes to their racer.

The multi player version can be accessed from the multi player access point or the primary menu. Upon choosing the multiplayer option, players are brought to the session list, which displays a listing of sessions. Players can select a session from this or make a new session. You may decide who you would like to include in this session, whether those only on your friends list or all users.

On creating or joining a session, players will be taken to the pre-race lobby, where the track on which to race is selected by voting. If a player is prepared, he should change his status to 'Ready'. Once all the players are ready, they're straight away taken to the racing track and the race will then start.

In Sodium 2, the garage is where players can make changes to their velocity racer and add new components. To be able to access the parts, players must earn XP, which will help them unlock new upgrades. Then there are other upgrades that must be purchased thru the Commerce Point in the garage.
