Because of the openness of the global market, many companies have started to make alliances with foreign corporations in order to broaden their consumer range. It is not uncommon for companies to send representatives to different countries to make transactions. Before this occurs, however, these representatives need to have cross cultural training.

With so many continents and countries globally, corporations will find that there are barriers and hindrances to getting an agreement from one party. Since there are various cultures around the world, each nation has different beliefs. Sometimes, these are acceptable to one culture but unacceptable to another. Going through with intercultural learning programs can help decrease stereotypes.

These learning courses aim to teach individuals about the make up and background of a specific country. History and demography of a country will be part of the discussions. Students of these programs are taught about the social norms and social classes of a country.
