Time Warner Triple Play - Will Landline Be Surpassed By Mobile Services

By Sam Bousaks

When mobile phone services were introduced, it was expected by many that landline telephone services like what Time Warner triple play and other landline services offer would die out. It was predicted that mobile phones will be dominant in terms of telecommunication and many individuals who have landline services would abandon them. It is because as years go by, mobile phone services will be more flexible and affordable. However, reality is quite different. Indeed, there was a drop in the number of landline users, but there are still many consumers who use landline services.

In a recent study, there are millions of individuals, households and businesses that still use landline connection. In fact, it is more than what was previously expected. Yes, mobile phone services may have its own perks, but landline services hold a lot of features, which makes it usable until today. Moreover, mobile phone service is still not perfect.

If we compare landline and mobile phone services, the former has a larger coverage. Since landline service was ahead of mobile phone service, landline companies were able to place vast networks of telephone lines. On the other hand, mobile phone companies are still trying to expand their networks in order to provide total coverage. As a matter of fact, in some areas, there are no mobile phone signals. Because of this, many people and businesses would rely only on landline service, which happens to be available in their area.

Indeed, mobile phone services may offer cheap forms of communication, in terms of SMS and MMS messaging as well as mobile calls, but some mobile services come with excessive charges on certain features. For instance, most mobile phone services will charge for voicemail messages, which is absolutely free in most landline offers such as Time Warner triple play. What's more extravagant about these mobile phone services is that if one wants to have certain features, a subscriber might have to pay for it, in order to have them.

The biggest problem about mobile phone services is the battery life they have. Mobile phones are not as reliable as home phone or landline phones because battery life is limited for a certain amount of time. The more one uses the phone, the shorter the battery life will be. Good thing mobile phones are rechargeable, but mobile phone will be of no use, if there's no spare battery or there's no battery charger. Thus, having a landline phone service as a backup will be invaluable, especially when one has to make an important phone call.

No matter how you look at it, telephone services are still important to everyone, whether if its personal use or business use. Telephone services like Time Warner triple play will continue to become a valuable tool in communications, even if mobile phone services are fast improving.
