CCTV: Someone Is Always Watching

By Ralph Lawerallidy

It is common to see a CCTV camera in public nowadays. Most of the sales of paket CCTV are from businesses and offices that want certain places monitored for safety and detection of unfortunate events. This is the most common use CCTV that we know of, but what other uses for CCTV are there?

* Crime Detection Helping in crime investigations is one of the greatest functions of the CCTV. Regardless of the degree of the crime, the CCTV provides video evidence to convict or prevent a man from going to jail. CCTV cameras that are hidden and that are located beyond the point of view of people are great in capturing illegal acts.

* For keeping an eye on businesses The business sector is the biggest reason why there are CCTV cameras everywhere. You can keep an eye on all that is happening in your business. It can be a life saver because criminals don't want to rob places with CCTV, so getting one is highly recommended.

* To observe dangerous places There are places in industrial processing plants which are too unsafe for people. If the conveyor belt passes through a very hot room for example, the CCTV will allow an employee to observe and make sure that nothing goes wrong without exposing himself or herself to the heat.

* Traffic Monitoring The road is another ideal place to put a CCTV. If there are accidents for example, the CCTV is very useful in reviewing what really happened. Cameras can be a great tool in investigating road offences and misconducts.

* Making sure that subways are safe Another practical place to put a CCTV is the train or subway station. These places need to monitor all that is going on for the sake of safety and crime prevention. For example, the train operator in subways use the CCTV to make sure that the doorway is clear of people before closing it.

* Checking insurance claims To check if the claims of their clients are authentic, insurance companies check CCTV footages if there are any. They have a team of analysts who review hours worth of CCTV everyday to make certain that people are not just cashing in from their insurance companies.

* For catching extraordinary moments Most of the time, the CCTV captures hours of videos where nothing happens. But there are times when you might just catch noteworthy footages. You'll be surprised to see what other people do when they thought no one was watching.
