What can a Lead Generation Website do to boost my Business?

By Mike Jerome

A lead generation website is built to urge people to make inquiries or opt-in to get additional information about your products or opportunity.

Consideration should invariably be given to the program you use to generate e-mails when building a lead generation website.

Leads Generation Websites use Autoresponders

AWeber is a good choice for setting up an email system but there are many other wonderful companies that will handle your e-mails these systems are designed to send out a sequence of e-mails to anyone that signs up on your site. Most auto responder systems utilize a double opt-in process that will keep you in conformance with the Can Spam Act. When prospects are asked to approve their opt-in requests, sadly many don't.

Emails should be drafted in a way that provide interesting and beneficial info and not just be a selling spiel. Consider the emails you get. How long do you stay on a list that bombards you daily with sales messages and not too much else?

Consider the info you're going to request in your opt-in box. Folk are wary of giving out too much info initially, at least get the subscriber's first name and their e-mail address of course, and you might add a field to find out precisely what they are interested in. As an example you might have a drop-down box that lists the products on your site, you can then build lists and send important info regarding the product the subscriber is interested in. So if you've a dozen different products you could build a dozen different lists, each one targeted to each express product.

Pay plenty of attention when writing your emails, if you set up a series of emails in your autoresponder system, they ought to be checked and re-checked. Typos imply that you are sloppy and many people will not read an email that is three feet long. Your e-mail should be accurate and relevant and drafted in short paragraphs with lots of white space.

It won't take long for you to build a respectable list at which point you can send out a once a month newsletter thru your autoresponder system letting subscribers know about the latest reports in the industry or about new products or services that you are offering.

Always address your customer by his or her first name many make the mistake of not filling in that field and hence customers are addressed as "dear subscriber" which is not awfully personal - you should usually compose an email as if you are writing to a pal and never use direct commands like "buy this" or "you must get this". The most useful technique to get a sale is to help someone with their issues by giving them useful information, and offering something free like an e-book is always welcomed.

Everything that you send to your subscriber should have value and be important. If all of a sudden your unsubscribe list goes off the charts then that's fair alert that you've done anything wrong, though you'll always have a specific number of unsubscribers.

Your lead generation website is only a platform for your e-mail and autoresponder system. But you won't be in a position to generate leads without using an auto-responder. Take time to get yourself up to speed with the system you select and experiment to see what is best for you. Do not send out a sales spiel to your customers too often. Be beneficial. Learn how to build relationships. Offer worth and inspire collaboration and feedback.

The wonderful thing about an effective auto responder system is that it never sleeps!
