How To Design A Business Plan Sample

By Horacio S. Murphy

A lot of people go online to find free business plan samples to "save time" so that they don't have to "do all the writing". My advice is watch out.Your plan is supposed to be your plan! My experience with the pre-written plans is that most people get lazy with them. After they cut and paste their business name in and do a little customizing of the first few pages, they tend to skip changing the rest. This defeats the purpose of doing a business plan in the first place which is to help you plan (it's in the name, right?) how your business is going to operate successfully.

If you cut out the planning stage and don't figure out how your business is going to make it, you really hurt your chances of that happening.Another big problem with prewritten plans is people forget to take out some stuff that doesn't apply. Then, inevitably, at a presentation or meeting they get asked about it.

The products and services: This section of the free sample business plan is a detailed description of what product and/or service is offered. Specifics in this part of the free sample business plan are the key. For example, instead of the free sample business plan reading "ABC offers clothing", the plan would state, "AMC offers designer children's clothing for children ages birth to 8 years old at highly discounted prices".

Market: This section of the sample plan will analyze (both informally and formally) the targeted market, if it is a niche market, and what community need the company will fill. At this point in the plan, you should use statistics, percentages, and detailed figures to support your statements.

Financial & Budgetary Analysis: The financial & budgetary analysis section of the sample plan will be an outline of profits, income, and expenditures of an organization already in existence. As a business just starting out, the section will be projected costs and expenditures, as well as profit projections. This is a great way for a business person to assess and visualize the venture is worth it. In other words, if it will not cost more to get started/operate than the money it will bring in.Company Highlights: The free sample business plan will also include a section for you to look at that will have miscellaneous highlights of the company. The free sample business plan will list such highlights as: a mission statement; value statement; keys for success; desired outcomes; etc. All will show and prove why and how the business will be profitable.

The best way to get your business plan done is to use a combination of top rated business plan software and one to one consulting for all your questions and a complete review of your plan. Fortunately, that is exactly what you get with CapForge, Inc. and for a price that is less than what you pay for just the software from most of our competitors.
